A BBC National winner and sire of a national winner paired to a direct daughter of D'Artanian — pure Frans Zwols, top of the family on both sides
A BBC National winner and sire of a national winner paired to a direct daughter of D'Artanian — pure Frans Zwols, top of the family on both sides
The strongest piece of pure Frans Zwols breeding in the 2025 breeding season for Pioneer Pigeons, and one of the few pairs in the loft where the cock is a National winner in his own right rather than a son or grandson of one. Theresa's Boy won 1st Open BBC National by 125 yards per minute. Theresa's Boy in 2026 is now the Sire of a NFC winner!
The hen is a direct daughter of D'Artanian, the cock responsible for thirteen 1st prizes at National, Amal and Combine level.
Both birds sit one generation from the founders of the family. Nothing here is diluted through three or four crosses — the Amal Cock and Guernsey Princess stand directly behind the cock, D'Artanian himself directly behind the hen.
The Cock — GB18N76430 "Theresa's Boy"
Blue · Stock Cock · Frans Zwols, bred by Zwols Pigeons
Raced only as a young bird and scored: 3rd Club, 4th Open, beaten by two loftmates. Then 1st Section, 1st Open BBC National, winning by 125 YPM. At stock he is sire and grandsire to 5th, 9th, 10th and 12th Open National.
The Amal Cock (GB13N91749) — his sire. Winner of 1st and 4th Amal against 4,800 and 4,400 birds into a headwind, and Bird of the Year. At stock, sire of 2 × 1st and 2nd Open National, and grandsire of 1st, 2 × 2nd, 5th and 7th Open.
Guernsey Princess (GB16S61958) — his dam. In a single yearling season she won 1st and 3rd Open BICC National. At stock she is dam of 1st BICC, 1st BBC and 2nd NFC, and granddam of 1st BICC and 2nd Open National.
In short: a proven National winner out of two proven National winners — racing form and breeding value in the same bird.
The Hen — GB23N65199 "Pioneer D'Artanian 199"
Blue Hen · Stock · Frans Zwols, bred by Zwols Pigeons
A direct daughter of D'Artanian (NL07-1230197) — one of the top breeding cocks in the UK, responsible for 13 × 1st at National, Amal and Combine level, including 1st against 19,476 birds, 3 × 1st NFC, 3 × 1st BICC, 1st BBC, 2 × 1st Amal up to 5,500 birds and 4 × 1st Combine.
Her dam, GB22N80268, is herself a daughter of D'Artanian paired into the Sophie's Boy × 667 Special Lady line — Sophie's Boy won 1st Open NFC St Philbert at 290 miles and 1st South Combine at 200 miles.
In short: a first-generation D'Artanian daughter doubled back through his own best daughters — this is the concentrated end of the Zwols family, not the fringe.

BREEDING CHARACTER
A linebred Zwols mating, not an outcross. Dutch Prince and De Diamant appear on both sides, giving a coefficient of inbreeding of roughly 1.6% in the youngsters — light enough to carry no practical risk, close enough to hold the family type. The value here is concentration rather than hybrid vigour: buyers who already keep Zwols blood can pair these youngsters back into their own loft without introducing anything foreign, and buyers who keep other families get a clean, unmixed Zwols cross to bring in.
