Description

Maurice’s note reads: "In the father’s pedigree you have no less than Kittel, Olympic Rosita, Sagan, Goede Rode, Golden Leo and Buzzard. The best sprint pigeons in the world, crossed with the best long distance in the world." The sire is "Olympic Maurice" FBI (B23-4189570), out of the Dirk Van den Bulck stock; the dam is a granddaughter of Sokrates, winner of the International from San Sebastián at 2,050km, and of Diana, who scored from Scotland to Poland at 1,800km.

From the O’Donnell card: Van den Bulck "Olympic Maurice" FBI over the Military Rogala marathon family

The Sire — B23-4189570 "Olympic Maurice" FBI

The best Van den Bulck lines to be got · grandson of Liberaal

"Olympic Maurice" is described on the card as the best Van den Bulck lines to be got — the best speed pigeons in the world. He is a grandson of "Liberaal", and behind him stand Kittel, Olympic Rosita, Sagan, De Goede Rode, Golden Leo and Buzzard.

His sire is "Summer Buzzard" (B22-6216125), original Van den Bulck; his dam is "Olympic 014" (B21-6201014), a full sister to Dirk’s world famous "Liberaal".

The Dam — PL22-9167

Granddaughter of Sokrates and of Diana · Military Rogala

Sokrates won the International from San Sebastián at 2,050km — one of the longest and hardest races on the European calendar. Her sire PL17-4815 is his son.

Diana scored from Scotland to Poland at 1,800km. Her dam PL21-4773 is Diana’s daughter.

THE FAMILY’S CURRENT FORM

The O’Donnell card adds two current results for the family: a double grandson of Star Boy won the MNFC from Isigny-sur-Mer against 4,200+ birds for the Willott Partnership, and a grandchild bred the 1st Open winner of the Midlands National from France for Kev Parsons. The Pattaya International has been won out of this family against 13,000 birds.

BREEDING CHARACTER

The widest cross Maurice has made. One half is the most expensive sprint and middle-distance blood in Belgium; the other half is bred for 2,000km. Nothing is shared between them, so there is no inbreeding load — and no way to predict which side a given youngster favours. That unpredictability is the point: it is a bird bought to find out.

SUMMARY

IHU26-067418 is a Van den Bulck sprint cross onto the Military Rogala marathon family, bred by Maurice O’Donnell. Behind it: a SAMDPR Knockout Winner, a Pattaya International winner, an Algarve Golden Race co-winner and Barcelona National Ace form.
