A full brother to Gold Wing paired to a double granddaughter of Star Boy — Chadwick money-winners crossed onto O’Donnell
One of the most commercially proven crosses in the loft: a full brother to Gold Wing, who won €25,000 as 2nd Ace Pigeon in the 2023 Algarve Golden Race, paired to a hen who is a double granddaughter of Star Boy. Both sides have taken real money in international One Loft competition, and neither has an ancestor in common with the other.
The cock’s family is unusual in that its record is recent, repeated and specific — the same sire and dam have produced Algarve and UK Premier performers in four separate years. The hen concentrates the Star Boy line from both directions at once.
The Cock — GB24V64311 "Pioneer Warrior"
Blue Chequer · Stock Cock · Chadwick · Bred by Mike Chadwick
A son of Incredible II × Sarah, and a full brother to Gold Wing — 2nd Ace Pigeon in the 2023 Algarve Golden Race, winning €25,000, plus 2nd UK and 16th Open Hotspot 1 from 5,233 birds and 85th from 4,738 at Portalegre.
Incredible II (B20-4228463) — bred by F & J Vandenabeele. Beyond Gold Wing he is the sire of 47th in the UK Premier Final 2023; of Storm, 38th Open and 2nd UK in the 2024 Algarve Golden Race Final from an original entry of 7,182; and of Hermes (30th) and Artemis (33rd) in the 2025 Algarve Golden OLR. His sire Miracle Ace was 1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB Long Distance and 8th Libourne from 6,658 birds; his dam Classic Pearl was 1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB Long Distance 2020 and 1st Olympic Sport Category C.
Sarah (GB22S56178) — bred by Gary Tomlinson, and dam of every bird listed above. Her sire Hurricane (GB20V52557) won the Who Dares Wins OLR 2020 and £40,000; her dam Simply The Best (GB19Z60970) was among the best racers in the Who Dares Wins OLR 2019, bred down from Harry and Mystique.
In short: this is not a family with one good result. The same pairing has put birds in the money at Algarve in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The Hen — IHU24-053771 "Pioneer Star Double"
Blue Pied Hen · Stock · Bred by Maurice O’Donnell
A double granddaughter of Star Boy. Her sire is a brother to Miss Maurice and her dam a sister to Miss Maurice, so Star Boy appears on both sides of her pedigree — as does Mother of Star Boy, sister to 14th National Barcelona and dam of 15th National Barcelona and 51st National Narbonne.
Star Boy (B16-6037050) — rated among the best One Loft breeding cocks in the world. Sire of Miss Maurice, Knockout Winner in the Million Dollar Race South Africa 2020 for over $47,500, and grandsire of Miss Debbie, 1st Pattaya International OLR.
In short: she brings the Star Boy family at double strength, which is what makes her worth crossing onto an unrelated proven line.
